In my part of the country, forgetful or drunk/high. Newer high beams are blinding at night, so now I almost don't mind the older models high beams. Way too many critters out here that can mess up a car to not use them, tho. Deer can total cars, these days, too. So I really can't blame people for using them

BINGO
I used to drive to work on The East End of Long Island at 4 am. A shit ton of animals out at that hour. First off, Ive spent too many years RESCUING animals to run them over at 4am because I'm too fuckin lazy to get out of the house 10 minutes earlier. Secondly people act as if Highs are like Frigging Searchlights. Don't look directly at em.... duh. I've had plenty of people come at me with highs on. Its usually older people like myself who just don't see as well anymore at night. No problem. I look to the side or to the horizon for the 3.5 seconds they are going by me. And even if you don't give a rats ass about killing some poor animal just trying to cross the road, YOUR point still stands. Deer, Elk, Moose, Horse etc can total a car no problem not to mention F you up in the process.
My uncle died from a horse going through his windshield.
Regarding deer, I thought they’re stupid and attracted to the lights. My thought was brighter lights equal more deer. No?
Had to look it up. The bright light blinds them, so they end up standing still.
What does a shotgun do?
thats why you run a loud muffler or no muffler and drive fast
Yep. Newer low lights on some cars will blind you too, especially if they're driving an SUV/truck and you're in a car closer to the ground. They'll be pointed right at your eye level.
