I'm staying at my father's house for a little bit and he likes to feed the finches. But Finch food is $15 for a 7 lb bag. It's a complete rip-off. To me it just looks like there's sunflower seeds in there that are kind of shredded. I wonder if I could just get a big thing of sunflower seeds and put them in a blender and let the blender just puree the stuff. That's probably not how it works however? For any of you lads and lasses that feed your finches what do you do to get around the cartel prices?

Best way is to grow flowers like echinacea, amaranth, and so on, natural bird feeders.

If they're shade flowers I'm all about it. There's 40 years worth of shade trees that when we were young my father planted here now they completely encased the house. Makes it awesome here in the summer but not so good if you like flowers.
