Society is primed for real collapse. The financial collapse will come first through the insolvency of the big banks. Won't take but a day or two of no access to cash before the race war starts.

Politically speaking it seems to be, since everyone is already campaigning. And from a fiscal point of view, any "positive" changes will need to be done now, for them to be visible come campaign season.
