Firearms. If my thrift store wineglass breaks, I'll need to wash my clothes. If a used turkshit shotgun breaks, I'm going to eat a faceful of shrapnel.

It would be stupid to not battle test any weapon in a safe manner.

With that said it is irrational to think your particular turkshit will explode when there are tens of thousands being used and not exploding.

How does one test a firearm in a safe manner?

Tie a string to the trigger and a door knob then throw it as hard as you can like a javelin.

No idea how to do it 'right', but this is how I did it:

Once, I purchased a ~70 year old mil surplus rifle along with 40 year old mil surplus ammo. (Mosin–Nagant Carbine)

My test methodology:

  1. Full disassembly (removed the furniture, etc.)
  2. Spent an hour inspecting the steel with a light and a magnifying glass, mostly looking for any visible stress fractures in the barrel.
  3. Held it at arms length (no cheek weld) and fired it. (Figured I might lose a hand, but it would be my off hand and I could live with that.)
  4. Repeat for a half dozen more rounds.
  5. Cleaned and reinspected.

These guns are robust and likely this was overkill (and the Russkies did well when they packed it away with Cosmoline), but hey ... my time and my skin.

Find the nearest outdoor range.

Spent a year in Turkey training young askerlik. They were more likely to die from shrapnel from a defective weapon than anything else. This is from a situation where the cadre would hose down the battalion in -20c weather.

Stay away from the Turkish ammo while you are at it.

What about Turkish shotguns?

is exactly where they belong

I have a Davison autoloader (Turkish copy of the Benelli inertia system) I bought it because, cheap, and I wanted to see if i wanted to go inertia, or stay gas (I have a Franchi Italian gas gun) A few things I learned, I need to hold an inertia gun tighter to my shoulder, as it is so fast that it will shoot doubles with the recoil, the recoil is much more than a gas gun and the Turkish copy works. It does not have the finish of the Franchi, but it hasn't let me down. I may still get the Benelli for upland, but I'll continue to use the Davidson for waterfowl, as dropping a 300 dollar shotgun in the muck accidentally hurts a lot less.
