I gladly pay a high price for something that I plan to use indefinitely or daily.
Good shoes, A good bed, durable clothes, tools especially.
But if it's something temporary like food, or any subscription service, or something cheap from china hell no. I'll pay triple for a good thing that will last decades than something I might think will break in a year or two.

i spend an inordinate amount of time surfing online for clearance / stock sales for a particular store i buy from. Right now wearing ($300 runners, $200 cargos, $140 denim collar shirt, $120 merino t shirt, with a $300 faggot puffer jacket over the chair that i paid $230 clearance price for all. Havent paid full retail for clothing in over 5-10 years.
EDIT: Prob only clothing i pay full retail for are quality boxers or socks (if i cant get the same on clearance) lol.
I can't buy clothing online.
Most sizes these days are made for Asian school boys and manlets.
Hah. So men's clothing is going the opposite of Womens in vanity sizing? How fucking ironic.
"Women" need sizes to be "small" when they are fucking mountains. Men need sizes to be "big" (but actually small) because they are now weak and pathetic.
For Fuck Sake. I fucking hate "current year" and clown world.
Ah yes true that. It's why i stick with the same store and brands that i'm familar with, and have figured out their sizing.
I tend to think along these lines. Buy it for Life stuff
...something temporary like food...
Food isn't temporary. You actually are what you eat. Food quality has a very high impact on mental abilities, state of mind and emotional well-being. It also has both short term and long term effects on your physical health down to your DNA.
The food that you consume should be the number one thing that you ensure is of high quality.
Food is temporary.
Do better.
