I think retailers are having problems with the economy anyway. Virtue signaling isn't profitable anymore, so the least profitable stores are going first.
Bud Light just discovered virtue signaling is not a good business model. I believe other virtue signaling companies are going to find out the hard way too.
Where I work, they virtue signal via intercompany email mostly. I notice it's not as common as it used to be though.
Companies are finally noticing that hiring activists not employees only leads to loss of profit and failure.
That, and bidenomics will dictate how and where people spend their money.
