I got an old propane tank in looking to turn into a smoker but it still has residual propane in it, what's the best way to clean it? Or should I just scrap it and get a clean pipe?

Correct. About 24 inch diameter, 6ft long.

I guess my concern is the seasoning when it's complete. Guess I'm thinking 20 steps ahead.

Any residue will be burnt up your first fire and will get better from there. Get the first fire nice and hot.
