I’ve heard that there is no difference at all between different brands of gasoline. They are all refined and sent through pipelines and end up the same distributors. The only difference is the additives that some places add to their gas.
I have no source, I read the article years ago.
I read the same article. The difference is what fuel cleaner they claim to add to the gas. The tests showed that the amount of additive the average fillip gives is less than a teaspoon for a 10 gallon tank anyway, so they're all literaly the same
I talked to a guy that drove trucks to haul gas around to the stations and he pretty much said the same thing. That trucks for all the stations get the gas from the same place and some of them have a negligible amount of additive they put in.
I figured. I'm only going to be in the area for the next 6 weeks and then I'll be taking off I can't imagine filling up six times is going to damage my engine or the borrowed cars engine or fuel filter. But you never know. Gas is almost a dollar cheaper at Costco for high octane. So that adds up especially with an engine that drinks it.
Worked with a programmer for gas pumps, he said the same. In fact he pointed out a pipeline location where all the trucks go to fill. It's just a small bottle of detergent/whatever each adds.
