Because the majority of the creative community are self-seeking narcissists, the core of which is generally a self-loathing loser who has no actual talents or skills that contribute to society in the manner a plumber, carpenter, or welder does - the kind of work and kind of person they see as untouchable. And, like all narcissists, they demand their fifteen minutes of fame at the microphone, spewing the pseudo-intellectual bombast and chest-beating virtue signalling typical of their kind.
They are the vermin that gather when the smell of a rotting corpse begins to waft from a dead nation. Their words are the groaning of zombies in sleepless torment. Their thoughts are the wailings of those who know they are damned. Its supposed to be off-putting because its a warning to those who do not yet have God. A Godless nation produces these kinds of people.

Have you ever tried poetry?
I'm not sure how to answer that question without seeming to be the very same loathsome creature I have just described in my post. All I can say is I felt called to write, and I continue to do so despite how unrewarding and lonely a calling it is. As Lloyd Alexander once said, there are easier ways to starve to death than to be a writer.
