I don't think it's going to happen. I think something worse is going to happen. It's just gonna keep getting worse and worse and there's nothing you can do about it. We're not entering the sudden collapse stage. We're entering the very prolonged things just keeping getting worse and absolutely no way to improve it stage.
If you're wondering what that stage looks like. It started in 2020. The past three years. That's what the rest of your life is going to look like.

Invasions? None of the powerful nations need more land, they all could be domestically resource sufficient, excepting a few in europe who have neighbors they can trade with, by next year if they put their minds to it.
The primary issues of today are international trade/trade security, ideology and it's imposition from super powers and via the internet, and power over both trade and ideology, "america" had all of this but now has shown it's hand to most of the world as a bad actor with too much power and too little restraint. holding territory by force or conquest is basically done, ukraine is an extreme example because ukraine and russia are basically one people. Any territorial conflicts you see today are about ideological consolidation, hanging chads like ukraine, hong kong, north/south korea, taiwan, kuril islands represent open wounds for ideological infection. and the infection isn't always one way but the worst case scenario is ukraine right now. The goal of NATO was to collapse russia financially and turn russians against putin, they failed and that plan backfired, the back-up plan from the first days of the war was to make an occupation infeasible by getting as many civilians killed or impoverished as possible so that ukraine would become a poison pill to russia if(when) russia won. I could go on but ukraine has been subect to western propaganda for too long and that is an issue for russia because of the shared language.
This is why every nationalist group, even the british nationalist groups, need to make english the second language not the first. The collapse of the ideological map has overlaps of claimed territory due to languages being spoken across ideology gaps, this is why the CCP built the great firewall they didn't want to suffer taiwaneese or hongkong ideology or psy-ops. In american terms if kids in california and kids in ohio spoke different languages, even if they shared a second tongue, the ideology from one place couldn't easily spread to another, this is why mexico and mexicans have not caught the big gay or tranny shit and every other english speaking place has. Memes, like jokes, don't survive well as they translate across language barriers and ideology is made up of memes so enough poor translations and an ideology becomes largely inaccessible across that language barrier.
i agree. now try telling a conservative they need to learn a new language. i have discovered that in urban areas and with people who watch news, you cant really compete with the amount of language they are fed from weaponized sources, but in the country or for people who dont watch tv/news/etc you can discuss definitions, make up new words, and maintain the logos
A bit of a late reply but I saw some british podcasters speaking about this issue and the simple solution the british upper crust created to create a social barrier and political or ideological buffer, elocution lessons for the children, they engineered several new affectations of british english in high society essentially creating the posh british accent and setting etiquettes and common verbiage to more easily differentiate outsiders and insiders.
Prior to this the british upper class sounded much like the classical high society southern accent from america as it was essentially a marginally changed british high society accent.
It might be a bit on the nose but I would say that reviving the high southern dialectic through elocution lessons might be a solution, Let the northerners revive the mid atlantic accent. It truly is a half measure but it might be more feasible than teaching manx.
