I just started working out two months ago, One of my calluses got torn off while deadlifting only 175 pounds. Do any of you lift with gloves? Lifting without them is painful each time because my skin gets pinched and its kinda bothersome since i am not even lifting that much weight.

Your hands will toughen over time. My calluses are just an part of my palms at this point, and they really don't grow or shrink.

Like another user said, the moisture is the big issue, and chalk will be your best friend. Don't need to overdo it, just a bit between sets to keep your hands dried out. DO NOT CHALK BEFORE PULL UPS/CHIN UPS. That will absolutely cause your calluses to be the weak link and they will rip something nasty before your grip actually fails. Just dry your hands off and do as many as you can.

Gloves can be a serious issue when they shift around mid exercise. You will never be able to grip the bar as well with a piece of fabric between it and your hands.
