Would you be afraid? Would you make "I am not suicidal" tweets? Would you destroy the evidence and never talk about it? Would you leak the info and if so how and to where?

I work in the high tech industry and recently was out for drinks after a industry specific event. I found myself talking with a group a casual friends who all work in big tech and the subject came up about learning unpleasant things about the business practices of our employer. Just about every one got a little nervous and started talking about things that they have thought about leaking to the public but were afraid to. Most people talked about unsurprising things like "My company tracks your location and sells the data." but one person revealed one thing that kept me awake last night. They flat out said that they would never provide proof and would deny making any such claims because they would fear not just loosing their jobs but much worse. I know what this person works on and I know who she works for and the claims she made connected a few dots for me. Overall I think it was very credible... and I cannot blame her for being terrified of the knowledge she has.

Upload it as a few torrents anonymously. Do digital to pdfs at a library and then up load that. Use a one time linux live distro on a used computer you buy at a yardsale and use a live linux session to upload it. Use a vpn if you really want to be anonymous and bounce that signal all over the place. Overkill but better than regular kill.

Yeah... and then what? You get it out. Seth Ritch got the DNC data out too but look where he is now.

Well his mistake was he just copied it on a work computer. The admin likely just looked up who accessed the files in the timeline that proceeded the leek. There was no anonymity there. Now stealing another persons password and doing in out of the building since they likely have pinhole cameras everywhere. Should have done it somewhere else without an IP that lead right to him or a password/username. People when doing something like this must realize that technology is not your friend in the work environment.
