If you're in the suburbs (or otherwise have close neighbors) and you decide to get a generator, put a muffler on it. Look at the difference in models and prices. Some can be hardwired directly into your house, others just run extension cords to what you want plugged in. Solar panels on an existing roof can be super expensive, but also, a good way to keep the lights on. Probably still a tax credit on them, but could be locality dependent. They charge a battery bank and the leftover electricity goes back into the grid. Then you get paid for what you make, but don't use. Good luck, no electricity bro
I'll probably get a generator soon. We just bought this house a year ago, and there's so much to do. We're almost always broke now lol
