I like 22 up to 250lb. Had a 400lb one just flinch with a perfect brain shot. Older pig, thick skull. Second shot (also very carefully placed at 5’ away made it really mad/scared. Two of us emptied magazines into its head for the next 5 minutes as it ran around screaming. Really bad day. Would not recommend.
Is it possible, yes. Is it reliably a good kill? No.

the only reason he died...is he ran by me twice. First hit shoulder blade...second was very lucky, didn't actually expect him to drop. Had I actually been out there to hunt, would have been my .308, but I was just walking.
