So he would wear a wig when he had a fly. So you can put your hair up in a tight bun and toss a wig on and that would be that. It's your head not theirs and if they're going to judge you for having longer hair then that kind of sucks. If you're working around machinery and you have no way to protect your self, that's different. But a bunch of corporate picky picks don't deserve the stress that you're putting yourself through because they'll find something else to fucking tear you down, trust me.

If you're growing it long, it still needs to be trimmed. Every 3-5 months or so, get a trim. It'll save you the dead ends. If you're going to be out in the heat all summer, consider an undercut in the back. Cover your neck with a wet bandana or small towel to keep cool and keep the sun off of your neck.
