It looks like this monitor is the most real estate for the money in the $200-300 range -

On Ebay for $240, amazon $290.

However people say if you have a monitor that large it should be IPS otherwise the far edges can start to fade? Also people are suggesting a curved monitor at that size? And that monitor has a fixed height stand.

Would you just go with that monitor or would you go down in size to get IPS / curved in the $200-300 budget? Thanks!

I like arrays of monitors, I can leave intensive work on main monitor, email and music on side, references and work related on the right. I also had upper center at one point and I liked that too. Go and look at monitors, some are just easy on the eyes and some make you want to squint and blink… personal preference

For me I plan on resetting up an old laptop just for music and news etc. I've got an official work laptop on a vpn. You know these machines are tracking all your screen time, sites you visit etc.

Turn that baby vertical. Coding pages are long as fuck and that let's you see lots of it. Also, when I ran multiple monitors a kvm switch type device was already great for jumping machines while keeping a single setup array for keyboard and such.

i do 2 32inch curved one aoc and the other agon but it's the same company w/ the same specs. I use a 3rd 32" off to the side just for my music playlists and chats etc or a background movie. I can tell you aoc and agon are cheap options in 32" curved that have served me well in that pricerange. I think i paid 220 tops for each individual monitor

Holy shit! And here I'm pounding away on a kindle. No wonder it's hard to keep up.

Damn man at that rate the whole wall will just be monitors

not at all, it's just a dual monitor setup on my workbench, w/ a 3rd monitor clamped on the side at like a 45 degree angle to me. Viewing the third monitor does involve turning my head but like i said it's just for playlists music chat etc and it keeps me from having to minimize windows to change music etc

I have 43" 4k tv $200 - for coding. Well, and another 4k monitor, and a third shitty HD for compliance stuff

Only 34% more pixels than a 2k monitor (2560x1440).

I picked up 3 32” LG high def monitors and it’s awesome. I’ve got over 6 feet of screen real estate in front of me and that’s with the outer two at 45 degrees. The monitors are so good Wife wanted one in her office. So I gave her one of mine and got another.

It’s a fantastic setup, and I do a lot of coding.

Do you remember how much you paid for each monitor individually? Thanks!

Ya. They're the LG 32UN550-W monitors. The last one I bought for my wife was $330 on Amazon and that was on 11/15/22.

I bought the original 3 monitors on 8/31/21 and I think they were a little less. Maybe $319 or something.

Anyway, while a little pricier by today's standards, they're cheap cause I'm old and grew up using all those really shitty monitors. So $1,000 for 6 feet of 11,520x2160 pixels (each monitor is 3840x2160) was just fine with me.

And so far these monitors are great. They're not gaming-spec or anything, but I don't play a ton of games. But they're really sharp and give me more than plenty of space for coding projects and the like. I'd love to eventually add another row for a total of 6 monitors but I think I'd need to rebuild my desk to accommodate monitors lower than the current surface.

Anyway, I like them and expect to have them going for some time.

Damn! I just got the same one! Thank You!

I was about to get a 34" but then I thought about the aspect ratio and was like wait a second I want height. 32" monitors are 16:9 but 34" are 21:9. 32" inch monitors are actually taller. And the one you got was the best by far for the resolution! Thank you!
