My dad had a '55 chev he traded for a '60 ford station wagon after the family grew to 4 kids. I tormented him with that decision for the rest of his life.

A friend tried to sell me his 1970 426 Hemi Challenger with dual quads, cast Iron headers, slap stik shifter and Sure-Grip differential for $5000. It would get about 5MPG when we were out racing around.

I told him to go Fuck himself. Gas had just hit $1.20 a gallon...

Lol , I remember when gas hit 0.68 a gallon and my Dad flipping out. They actually started rationing , you had a red or blue sticker that dictated what days you could purchase gas.

When I graduated H.S. you could pick up muscle cars for like 500 bucks , they'd need work but it was shit you could do yourself. It was a great time to be a teenager

I wouldn't trade those days for anything.

Why, my first car that I worked for and paid for, of course..... a '70 Ford Pinto. I loved that little bugger.

What appealed most to you about it ?

92 Daihatsu Rocky. Sister had tricked it out, custom plate that read RadRcky, and always smelling like Pina colada because of the air freshener she would put inside. Always wondered what she wound up doing with it after her divorce since neither party got it.

I had a boy crush on Subaru Impreza WRX.

A friend of mine father's had one of these. His father raced it when they lived in UAE. Under a tarp it mostly sat. Rode in it only once and only ever saw it run less than a half dozen times. As a kid I remember it sounding great.

My dad had a 240z Dotson. I never like it's brown paint but God damn was it a cool car.

Those 240Z were cool and fun to drive , a buddy had an orange one

My brother's best friend had an old hardtop convertible Jag. IIRC, it was a 1950s something. Maybe older? Transmission didn't even have synchronizers. So you have to double clutch every shift else you grind the gears. Was a super cool ride.

My dad once had this '99 LX 470 with polished wooden finishes on the interior and the best leather seating. Unfortunately he had to get rid of it once gas prices went up.
