Just noticed I'm running low on cartridges for my typical 5 blade faggot cartridge razor and when I went to order in a new supply - fucking kikes increased the price again.

Now I want to buy a straight razor purely out of spite so they never again get a cent out of me.

I used to shave with a safety razor few years back until I left it in a hotel since I used to travel a lot for work. Of course it was never handed in to lost and found. This time I don't even want to pay (((them))) for razor blades.

Anyway, share your experience, pro/cons, what to look out for when buying one?

Afterwards hopefully it's basted and grilled.

I'm pretty sure rabbits can smell carrots.

[–] 1 pt

What are you Elmer Fudd? Who hunts rabbits? You know deer exist right?

[–] 3 pts

You type like a man that has never eaten white beans and rabbit. Sad

[–] 0 pt

Rabbit is way more tasty than venison

[–] 0 pt

Rabbits are easier to fit in the pot

Lotion?

[–] 0 pt

Ya lotion. You know. That stuff you run on your little penis to bring pleasure to your otherwise miserable life

[–] 1 pt

Don't use lotion after shaving or while jacking it. Dry. Dry dry dry.

These days I just use clippers. Doesn't need to be close, just keep it from getting long.

I used to but now it's the 5 blades out of convenience. But I am switching soon to the patriot razers I saw on GAB to try them out. I am using dollar shave club currently and they jewed out with BLM support. Not exactly sure how I missed that but I correct my mistakes. On a side note, it's a mother fucker and a half to find stuff not made by P&G.

indirectly related.

i use Harry's (never use gillette again and I believe Harrys is not related, but who fucking knows) and i go through about 4-5 blades a year. when it starts getting dull or just every couple of shaves I run it against a pair of denim with an upstroke (so as not to cut but to "wipe" the backside of the blade). it keeps the blades in decent shape for longer. You can get a 10 count on Amazon for $21. So i spend about $10-12 a year on blades.

I shave in the shower with an anti-fog mirror, and instead of buying shaving cream all the time I get my face nice and hot and I use soap, shampoo or even conditioner (gets stuck in the blades a bit more). it literally works exactly the same for me. also, i go with the grain on the neck to avoid irritation.

I shave regularly too. I don't have a baby face who shaves twice a month.

One of the reasons I'm looking into straight razors. I have a thick beard too, and prefer to shave every other day, but at the end of the second day I already look scruffy. Straight razor are supposed to give you the closest shave possible.

[–] 0 pt

that’s a myth. The modern five blade razors will give you a much closer shave. While straight razors are cool and cost-effective, they don’t even come close to a five blade razor. I just use an electric razor without the guard. It doesn’t leave me baby smooth but it does the job without shaving cream or having to buy anything else

[–] 0 pt

I'm not sure about that, safety razor gave me a much closer shave than 5 blade.

Tried a braun foil shaver, it gave me a lot of irritation afterwards.

Honesty I don't mind using the 5 razor cartridges, but where I am they keep raising the price and I don't want to use them anymore purely out of spite.

[–] 2 pts

Single Blade for me. Very economic. I change the blade every ten shave

It's kind of like a hobby. You spend a little more time caring for your tools and buying things like wet stones and strops. Getting it perfectly sharp is like learning to golf.

I got a haircut once and the barber whipped out a straight razor to trim around the edges. He ended up cutting me twice and then said I had soft skin. Lol.

[–] 6 pts

I hate barbers.

I would pay extra to go to a shop that promises they will keep their mouth shut for the duration of the haircut.

Next time one of them starts talking about sportsball, I'm just going to cut him off and talk about jews until he's done.

[–] 1 pt

> sportsball

That's exactly what I call it as well. Doesn't matter which season it is, it's all the same to me. A complete waste of time and attention.

[–] 1 pt

Exactly what it is. I always wonder how much time the average American waste yapping about sports. When they're talking about sports, they're not talking about things that actually matter. Keeps people from having intelligent conversations.

[–] 1 pt

I've had multiple barbers use straight razors on me, but they've never cut me.

My Mom on the other hand with electric clippers........

[–] 2 pts

I’ve never been cut by clippers except on my sack, where the skin is loose enough to get between the blades.

Why is your mom shaving your balls?

[–] 1 pt

No. Around the ears. Your mom shaves my balls.

[–] 1 pt

Get yourself a nice Double Edge (DE) Razor and a bag of sample blades from somewhere like https://www.westcoastshaving.com/ - I am able to get a week on a blade with daily shaving and blades are running me around a quarter each when purchased in bulk.

I have given the website mentioned in this post business and found them very reliable, however I haven't taken the time to investigate how they may or may not align with YOUR personal beliefs and morals - it's on you to do your own diligence. They may be liberals, they may donate to BLM, they may believe 5G causes COVID, they may believe little green men live in the hollow of our earth - I don't know (or care) they offer great prices and service. If you care, do your own due diligence.

If you find out their stance on Sasquatch I might actually be interested.

Double edge safety razors are the way to go. Get a variety pack of razors and see which you like best. The super sharp ones cut your face. I like the less harsh ones. It's 100x more affordable than buying disposable razors, and the shave is much closer. It's also better if you don't shave every day. Just don't dry shave, do it AFTER you shower so your facial hair isn't brittle and use some soap or shaving cream.

I used to have a straight razor but rarely shaved with it. I much prefer the single-blade safety razor. I've had the same Merkur razor since my father gave it to me 40+ years ago.

[–] 1 pt

Do you prefer a safety razor purely for convenience or quality of shave?

[–] 2 pts

Do you prefer a safety razor purely for convenience or quality of shave?

Both, actually.
A good safety razor (with a fresh blade) gives a far superior shave than a disposable razor. One packet of blades lasts me a lot longer than a pack of disposable razors, so it's also more affordable.

[–] 1 pt

I meant actually straight vs safety razor, I already used a safety razor so I know they are decent.

[–] 0 pt

This is the way.

Straight razor for real men; safety razor for a practical man.

When I notice my dispos are getting a bit ratty on my skin, I soak it in warm soapy water, then with a soft toothbrush I gently motion back and forth about 10 times with almost no pressure, then rinse under hot water and then "strop" the cartridge backwards on my forearm about 10 times. I haven't bought a new set of cartridges (I bought a set of 5 in 4 boxes, 20 cartridges in all) since 2015.
