Most court websites for the county have a self help section that includes how to serve someone. Go to the county website, find the self help link. There's also some self help staff that can provide free procedural guidance in some counties.

Edit: I never filed a small claim, but I won a case for my company by doing a monologue when I misunderstood the judge's question and got laughed at by the audience but the judge ruled in my company's favor anyway when I was done. Judge's question was 'what is your position?' and I went at it giving my position on why my company should win. The judge actually meant, what is your job position with the company.
