A lot of friends from my early years are now drug addicts. I watched them go from smart youth with bright future and good families to drugged deadbeats. I was there with them the whole time and tried to turn their path toward something productive, but to no use. Eventually I had to let go of them and set out on my own. I still think about them often and have ran into some or heard stories about others, they are all still stuck in the place where I left them. Sometimes you just have to leave people behind and let them live how they want, it's their choice, not much you can do.
