it is good for training and whatnot. i never relax when i'm flying one. the cabins that i have been in usually smells like catfood and shit, mixed with geriatric ass sweat mine have usually failed one or more test, but are passed anyway, because noone wants to admit that the maintenance work was not done. they ARE a workhorse, but its not something that you take a pretty girl in, unless you also want to put a cigerette out on her forehead. also, the ones that i have been in, consume large quantities of fuel, because they havent been tuned up in about two decades. But, they have good tires usually, because well.... they just do. oh yeah, and they are loud.. only white people can take care of them.

Did a lot of flying with my friend 10-15 years ago when he got his pilots license. I would go up with him and we'd putz around landing at various airports or flying to places that had lunch available. My favorite flight is looping around manhattan.
You are right about the smell. We had access to a 172 and 182 and the 182 just smelled like an old bowling alley. I think it was an older model, like 1980 or so.
