It's a white man's sport for sure, but has it be overcome by consumerism and pop culture? I have not played since I was in my 20's but was thinking I'd get back into it.

The whole LIV vs PGA is interesting as well, rich sandniggers/oilniggers are throwing money at the pro sports side and it seems like the normies are not down with that?

Golf is a great game. In the professional arena there are no signing bonuses or contracts. You have to earn your place in the PGA. If you don't play good, you don't get paid. What I don't like about pro golf is all the players seemed cloned. They all have the same swing, there are no fat golfer anymore or any individual characteristics that stand out. They all look the same for the most part.

My non-professional take is, golf takes a lot of time to develop. You need to play 3-4 times a week to improve consistently. Its also just as fun to go out once in a while and beat the ball around with a couple of buddies and some beer.

I enjoy playing cheap courses, pitch & putt, and the driving range. If I got 'serious' I might buy a set of decent used clubs. (~$200?) What I really like about it is the exercise in self-control I have to make myself practice after a shitty shot. (It's easy to get the fuckits and start shanking things. It was hard, but rewarding, to lock things down and force myself to play 'well' after a triple-putt.)

I'm about as interested in watching golf as I would be in other pro sports like bowling, darts or Starcraft, though.

My brother's like to play golf, but they are hyper competitive douches when it comes to games like that. So I just tag along to drink beer, smoke weed and drive a cart.

I'm like a caddy who won't carry your clubs or pay attention to where your ball went.

Never got into it. Most of the people that played around me were shitty ultra competitive people.

18 shots, 18 shots of scotch in a bottle. Walk some miles. No distractions.

Absolutely love playing and watching golf. Mostly white with very little woke bullshit. Little to no politics. The players keep their politics opinions to themselves. I suspect because most of them are conservatives. I also love that it's an individual sport. You can't count on other people to carry you when you're playing like shit.

William Gladstone, Samuel Clemens, and many others over time have referred to the game as a way to spoil a good walk. I took a semester of golf to satisfy a physical education requirement in my junior college years, I found it somewhat interesting but also frustrating and expensive. Haven't so much as picked up a club since then. Don't mind watching others play once in a while.

I returned after a 10 year absence 18 months ago. Bought new clubs (All on sale of the day). Last round of the year was my best, a 77 on a pretty tuff par 71 course. I can't wait to get going again soon. It's a walk in a park having fun with your buddies for 4 hours. People don't like it because it's a very hard sport to be half ass good at.

A game for elitist parasites who love nothing more than taking up lots of land which require constant maintenance and resources to sustain so they can play a stupid game of hitting a tiny ball far away.

Fuck golfers.

Depends on if you're playing with snobby yankees or Southern Gentlemen.
