We tried the usual things, name of the business, his name, last name, mother's name, kids, dogs, cars, addresses, birthdays, etc. The guy that locked it is a real piece of work and he had a fetish with password managers. The info in the file is the guy's baby, and he was so scared that someone else would take it from him, we suspect he locked it with a long randomized password. We own the IP through acquisition. We think that he would lie to us and say he didn't remember, and/or would try and hold it for ransom under the EOL consulting fees he has the ability to charge during transition.
