I read once. early hippies and proto hippies were German and German immigrants wanting a back to nature life. Then the movement got co opted and drugged.

i would also like to add, that i personally believe that the 420 pot movement was deliberately initiated i take attention off of hitler's birthday. the jews love to use drugs and retards to fuck up anything meaningful and that has promise for a better world.

I've read something similar. OG hippies tied to the anti-war movement, hijacked by government/military plants. Jim Morrison, for example, was the son of a high-ranking naval officer, among others of a similar background.
As for the "flower children" many of us look back on and detest, they make for a GREAT bad example imo.
Yep. Gulf of Tonkin. Laurel canyon scene was glowed out. Maybe except for Zappa, who didn't do drugs, had a father involved in bio weapons, but was anti gov and censorship. Some may argue he was still degenerate though
