Someone loaded a live round into that gun. If it wasn't Alec, then who?

Was that bullet meant for another actor on the set?

I'd like to see the script and see who was supposed to be shot in the next scene.

I'm not ruling out that Hutchins' death was intentional, and I'm certainly not absolving Alec, as he pulled the trigger. I'm just thinking maybe that bullet wasn't meant for her, and if it wasn't, who was it meant for?

Revolvers require special treatment when it comes to blanks and dummy rounds since the audience can often see what's in the cylinder. Industry standards include numerous safety protocols such as aiming revolvers over the shoulder when pointing at another actor, moving the crew away when pointing at the camera, using ballistic glass between the camera and the gun, separating functional guns from pure props, etc.

Baldwin ignored all of those and more.
