They had a seizure which I was able to deal with surprisingly because I've never had a deal with anything like that before. But then it got me thinking, what about CPR, could I do it correctly, would I be able to help somebody successfully? I've been looking at videos tonight on jewytube and it looks like the compressions have gone to 30 with two breaths, rinse repeat. But what I don't understand is I thought CPR was for if the heart stops not if there's irregular breathing? They just now check to see if the breathing is regular, if it's exasperated or clunky they say start CPR. I only thought you did it if there's no heartbeat? What say you first responders or EMT folks on here?

Never ever put anything anywhere near a person's mouth during a seizure. That's an old pile of bullshit. They will not choke. Disorientation is normal. My son is a complete wack job for 30 - 60 minutes afterwards then boom he's back. The brain is literally resetting itself and depending on the severity or where it's located in the brain the after effects are unpredictable. He needs to see a doctor and have his brain tested. He could have any kind of neurological issue causing the seizure. It could be just watching tv but even then he needs to know that.

Yeah he was getting seizure medicine that the emergency room doctor prescribed him. I told him that some TV shows can trigger seizures that's why they have seizure warnings. He said that he didn't think he was going to go to the neurologist that they recommended to go to. Hopefully his wife can talk some sense into him. I don't really know them so it was kind of super awkward helping out in such an intimate way. I'm glad I was there however and they were too.
