I don't necessarily believe it. I've studied the Bible a lot and I like to expand my understanding of God.
Atheists simply infuriate me with their "sky daddy" mockery and insistence on an ordered, precise, infinite universe coming about from an explosion and chaos with no intelligence.
God isn't "sky daddy." A common cartoon in pop culture is the old man, sitting atop a cloud, and for most people, that is all they know of God.
For us humans, we were created in the image of our creator, and birthed into a precisely ordered universe.
Now whatever you want to take God as, a mystical omniscient, omnipotent force, an alien race, a computer programmer of the greatest simulation, we are made in His image.
Yeah, gonna have to be honest right there.
I really don't want to be made in God's Image.
Cuz I'm real fucked up in the brain.
It's a fallen world, friend. We're all a bunch of wicked selfish little bastards, but we can feel what goodness really is, and we ache from the lack of it in the world, because we're of God.
We try to soothe that ache with things of this world and it only leads us away from God. It's counter-intuitive, but if you seek God and eschew the greed, selfishness and hedonism, he'll start to work in you.
That's how it worked for me anyway.
I would challenge you to try to do something kind for someone else next time you're feeling down. Especially if it's something you won't get anything for doing.
Getchu some Jesus.
That is excellent advice that I will attempt to incorporate into my daily life.
All of us are fuked up in the brain.
Imma post a sweet CS Lewis quote for you i heard the other day
Am confident am created in image of the creator. Am creator.
"We are made in his image" is a testament to the arrogance of man
One of the oldest recorded books, the bible and the book of genesis, says this explicitly.
There is only one species on earth, humans, that contemplate their existence and their universe. We are vastly different from the animal kingdom. That is because we have a soul. God spoke everything in to existence. Except humans. He crafted us from the earth and breathed His own breath in to us to give us life.
How is it arrogance to believe the what the word of God tells us?
What is arrogant in my opinion is the entire idea of humanistic atheism.
You are so arrogant that you believe that you know what thoughts go through the minds of other creatures. The hubris on display here is incredible
