So I got to fly to go visit my family and the only ticket that we could get was out of Spirit Air and I'm only taking a carry-on but then I hear you can't have a carry-on that is a normal backpack. So aside from wearing all my clothes onto the plane which will make me look ridiculous what do you guys do to beat the size restriction? I think it's like 18x14x8 maybe I could get some sort of little satchel to toss under the seat.

Don’t ever fly spirit. Beginning to end shit show, from rules to passengers, fights in the check in line( sometimes hours long), Shiite seats, extra fees….

You could get lucky.

Send us pics of those around you on the plane, for lulz.

[–] 3 pts

So basically it is the airline of choice for the people of Wal-mart and Wafflehouse?

[–] 2 pts

That’s freakishly accurate.

[–] 1 pt

He buys the tickets my father that is. He lives in Florida and I don't like Florida. He practically had a threaten me and my brother I to going there. I always fly Delta and I get the comfort + which I thoroughly enjoy. those seats are new and they're cushy and I always get aisle. Also the Boeing planes are way better. Airbus is like a fucking grayhound bus.

[–] 1 pt

Fair. But from people I know who work at Boeing, they say to never fly on a Boeing and they have the stories from the inside to back it up.

I don’t really have an answer to that, when I need to fly it seems as if there is only one possible flight to make the schedule work so it is what it is and hope for the best.

[–] 1 pt

Yeah it is what it is with this flight too that's all they had to get me where I had to go without 15 stops. I have an emergency aisle so at least I get to stretch my feet. oh, but you know what, I might not have a under seat compartment, uh oh...

[–] 0 pt

Truly this, seats have no padding, don’t recline, and are angled forward to ensure you’re miserable the whole flight.

[–] 3 pts

Last time I went, I sent pics of the line as I walked AROUND that whole section of terminal that was a spirit hub.

Oh, and black people fighting. And yelling.

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

The seats are like a pice of plastic fabric suspended between two metal poles. Just pay more for a different flight and cough up the $50 to check your luggage like a good goy.

[–] 0 pt

Nah, because I don't want to go there. I'm being obligated to go so my dads buying and I'll suffer. Although I'd rather not go ever this will probably be the last time I'll go to Florida and then he can fuck right off.

Flew them once because it was booked by the corp travel agent. Never happened again because I told them to pound sand and that they'd have to reimburse me from then on.

[–] 1 pt

Sorry I fat fingered downvoted you but I meant to do the other one I don't want to fly them I just hear a terrible stories about niggers and spics acting up like the fucking infantile children they are and I just want nothing to do with poor America.

[–] 1 pt

Don't fly Spirit. Ever. The stories about their passengers are true, and the flights are miserable. They also canceled my flight in the middle of the night and made it impossible to get a refund. I spent hours on hold to the Philippines and finally had to revoke the payment.

[–] 1 pt

yeah it wasnt bad. aa or delta is far better ofc. dont check any luggage and deal with their ratchet shit for a few hours, save yourself some time and a few hundred bucks.

[–] 1 pt

I can only imagine that all luggage gets niggered.

[–] 1 pt

I have and it was horrible. Condensation from the air system leaked on my seat for 3 hours, and they had to deliver my bags because somehow they didn't make the plane, which was a straight flight.

Spirit is basically nigger airlines. Watch the movie soul plane, it was based on spirit airlines

[–] 1 pt

I'm even more and more pissed as I think about what I'm going to have to deal with in about a month. I deplore flying next to niggers and Jews on an airplane Id rather fly next to an immigrant with their child then fly next to the two said above and mentioned races of people.

yeah same. Whenever I'd have to go a few states, I would tell my wife, I will only go if I drive. So we road trip a lot. I just can't stand TSA and their bullshit. Then they added the mask shit and that was the last straw for me flying. The KIA Soul is a very good rental car for mileage and comfort, fyi =D

[–] 0 pt

I got to go from Vegas to Florida. I can't drive that in a Kia soul.

Backpacks are fine if they fit under the seat in front of you. They are just going to charge you if you have to use an overhead space.

So hiking backpacks are a no-go, but a standard "book bag" backpacks are fine. (It's been a couple years since I've traveled with them ... don't believe the rules have changed, but yeah...)

Spirit is prefer for short travel. If I'm going someplace for 1-2 nights, I can throw my change of clothes and toothbrush into my backpack.

edit: rules look to be the same: https://www.sendmybag.com/airlines/spirit-baggage-allowance

My normal backpack is not much larger than my wife's purse ... so it's fine as a 'personal item'. It's large enough for my laptop, chargers, headphones, toothbrush/etc, and a change of cloths. All I need for a short trip.

[–] 0 pt

Good to know. My backpack can fit under the seat if half filled. I'm going for 7 days so I'll being wearing the same shit almost every day.

[–] 1 pt

I used spirit 2 weeks ago and on a full flight many people put their backpack up in the overhead bin so I did too and there was a lot of space not used up in the bins and no one was saying not to use them for personal items

[–] 0 pt

Good to know. My Father's an asshole for moving to such a shitty place in Florida that has crappy flights. If I was in New York it'd be great, I could get directs all day long for like $35 but I live out west and It's tricky. And I got to fly with a bunch of niggers and spics which I'm not really wanting to do at all.

[–] 1 pt

Yep. Long flight with them. It was actually legit as fuck. The stewardesses were chill as fuck. They didn't have to push the cart around and kiss our asses so they were actually really laid back. No one bitching about seatbelts or any such thing. They told jokes. Walked around with smiles and joked about stuff. The pilots were laid back as well. IDK why everyone is so down on them. No free fake jew cracker? I just ate food I brought. They gave my kid some pilot wing pins and stickers. 10/10 with spirit. Yall are on crack.

[–] 1 pt

You must be black or a wiggers?

[–] 1 pt

Naw... White male with my fam. Flew from SLC to Orlando. It was chill. IDK what else to say? I guess I got lucky? The flight was cheap too? We brought a bigger bag than the rules said etc. IDK. It was fine. Saved a couple hundred bucks. My 4 year old was fucking PUMPED that the plane was yellow. (his fav color). The plane was not all niggers.. Maybe you are blaming a nigger problem on Spirit?

[–] 1 pt

Ah okay, that explains it, every white man that lives in Salt Lake City is a reincarnation of Vanilla ice acting in a Budweiser commercial. I'm hoping it'll be a good experience because my flight home is going to be 8 hours because I have an extra stop.

[–] 1 pt

If you are trying to keep your budget down, check a suitcase (cost you about $30) and then do not buy food and beverage in the airport or on the plane. You will be money ahead.

You can master your hunger for half a day, or pack some snacks in a small personal item bag.

[–] 0 pt

Well I'm kind of being obligated to go on this flight. I'm not paying for any of it I wouldn't actually fly on spirit I would look for Delta. So if I can get away with the bare min wearing extra clothes I'll do that.

[–] 1 pt

18 x 14 x 8 is a backpack aka 'personal item'. That should be sufficient. I've done it once. I also saw cheaters with drink bottles and shoes tied by laces onto the outside of the backpack. I wouldn't try that just in case they make you shove your personal item into the example box and charge you for it if it doesn't fit. Since it's winter I wore my exercise clothes/pj under regular clothes plus jacket and packed the rest of what I needed for 4 days. That's plenty of room.
