I know there are some very intelligent anons on here. My wife needs help with arthritis. She has tried all the medications given for this but she is getting pretty bad. Elbows and hips. She almost can't climb steps. The scary thing is swallowing. A few times a year when she eats, the first bite leads immediately to hiccups and can't swallow for 10 or 15 minutes. Now it's a couple times a month. 10 years of doctors blame it on arthritis and prescribe things that don't help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I worked in kitchens for years. Consequently, my knife hand became riddled with joint pain, numbness, nerve problems, etc. Similar problems with my knees and feet. Now, I try to have collagen-rich broth more often, and supplement my morning coffee with powdered collagen (the more varied the sources, the better, e.g. Types I, II, III, V, and X). I eat healthier on the whole as well. It seems to help.

I hope you and your wife find something that works.

This.

We used to eat the whole animal, now we only eat very small and specific parts.

Eat more meat, as in more of the animal, different parts, and that broth will have a lot of good stuff we usually miss out on.

Full disclosure I have no expertise in this area.
