I've always been fascinated by the Russian language.

Also German for obvious reasons.

I'm working on French. I do a little study every day. I have zero natural talent for learning languages but I also have a lot of determination. I'm reaching the point where I can read simple text, but I need to expand my vocabulary and work on my verbs.

The language I'd really like to learn is Latin. What a beautiful language! It sounds beautiful when properly spoken and its structure is a work of art. For those who don't know, Latin doesn't depend on word order to convey meaning. The words can be in any order, and the meaning is still perfectly clear, because of the range of word terminations. This makes Latin incredibly compact. I want to learn it so that I can read Roman writers in their original language. I want to read the works of Cicero, the two Plinys, Ovid, Livy, Lucan, Caesar, and the rest of the old gang. There are a host of Latin works that have never been translated into English.
