Good. Going through the 12 steps, I've worked through some personal issues that were at the root of my "need" to drink. Free at last.
Good.
I went to rehab and relapsed.
I went to rehab, relapsed, then started taking AA seriously. It feels ridiculous to get a sponsor and work the steps, but it's really been working for me. I have absolutely no desire to drink anymore, where I used to not be able to stop myself. I'm sure it helps that I was a Christian before I got into the program, but I've also seen it work for people with less specific/rigid spiritual structures, provided you're not full blown nihilist/atheist.
I was helplessly bad enough that I was willing to give it a shot.
