This dude was a long distance truck driver. Divorced and no kids. He claimed to be happy, but looking back, I'm not sure he was actually happy or just trying to convince himself that he was.

If he stayed out months at a time, he was absolutely broken. That shit gets to you after a while. It will make you weird and not know how to interact with people.
When I did that shit, I would spend a lot of time in the driver's lounge talking to other drivers and get hotels every couple of weekends to get out of the truck.
