Does anyone know the the limits that we could start setting up and holding elections for judges, sheriffs and representatives, and they simply stand on standby. Or possibly they could start holding trials etc, for who all is willing to show up and participate. Also collecting "taxes". Would obviously have to be essentially 'by donation'. But none the less they could send mail saying "there is no forced obligation, however written 'law' would recommend you pay this much tax for this reason".

Maybe this whole effort, could double as the funding for a third party?

So, do you think there will be a peaceful transition with slimeballs still in power?

So long as a legitimate standing replacement was in place there may come a time where society just snaps over. If not it could stand until police and military peacefully agree to take orders from it instead.
