Yep, it happens more often that I would like to admit. The sad part is that the domain under my control is very small. I'm very good at losing stuff in a very limited area of operations...
I pretty much spend half my life losing shit and the other half looking for it.
Everything has its place. If you always return things to their places, you never spend a second looking for anything, because you know exactly where it is. This is true for me -- I always put things back in their places.
But my wife ... I've wasted hours looking for things she borrowed and failed to put back in their places. It drives me nuts.
I have a mental picture of your home, and I see a hoarder.
That might very well could be said I suppose, but I’ve had many varied artistic and other interests over the years so I’ve collected a lot more tools and materials than I have room for. I said what I said more in jest, but at times it does feel that way. Especially with tools that crossover into other fields. Being alone now and crippled up with severe rheumatoid arthritis in this last year I admit things have gotten away from me.
I'm sorry to hear that; if I were your neighbor I'd help you.
I've done that with components. They're in the office somewhere.
Somewhere, damn it.
Components tend to be small and in tiny packages, so they're kind of easy to misplace. On a better note, I have enough to last me the rest of my life - assuming I can find them.
The smaller the object the more likely misplaced
Have you tried asking your dog? I heard they have good memories.
He is only good for cows and cats and shit.
Does anyone else buy shit and then cant find it?
He is only good for cows and cats and shit.
Well, sounds like he might be helpful then.
fuck off, lol
Not with recent purchases but often with stuff I've purchased in the past. Something that I bought, maybe used, but just can't find it at all.
I've been known to accumulate years of bbq foil, I keep forgetting how much I have when I'm at the store, or where I put the extra I accidently bought before.
No
Under the hood? Maybe you installed them in your sleep.
I buy stuff, or get it given to me, then never get around to taking it out of the box it came in. Ten years later, I look at it and wonder what the fuck it is, and where it came from.
You considered putting it in the garage but then thought you'd misplace it, so you thought of putting it some place where you will walk into them on the way to the place you had intended to use the tensioner and pump.
