Love her to bits and want to spend the rest of my life with her. I've wanted to do this for a long time already but haven't been able to figure out how.

We'll soon celebrate having been together for five years and that would seem like a good moment to pop the question. I know she'll say yes since we've discussed getting married.

She's down to earth and not high maintenance or anything but I know she'd want the proposal to be something a bit special.

I do know that she dislikes the idea of public proposals. So no hockey games etc.

Don't fucking do it on your five year anniversary. That's so cliche. You have to make it out like you are overcome with passion and mad crazy love for her and make her feel like you did it spontaneously

So do it the day before your anniversary

Or have her think it's going to happen on the anniversary but do it the morning/day after. Too cruel?
