Why would they be? How often are they updated?
Every year, they don’t build roads that quickly.
I could go pull out my maps from the '90s and use them to drive myself across the continet. Sure, there would be some new roads in the cities, and maybe even a few highways have had route changes/reroutes, but I could look and use my God given brain to figure shit out when it doesn't exactly match.
Maps are generally tools of Propaganda. Depends what you use them for. USFS has the best maps imo.
