I had the same issue late afternoon yesterday. I resubmitted a couple of times, eventually I was successful and the problem went away. Haven't seen it since.

We're lucky POAL isn't under direct attack like VOAT experienced so often 2018-2021. DDoS, flood it with raunchy porn, every nasty thing they could do to disable VOAT. I've never seen anything like it before or since.

It actually is, but I use some custom protections. Our host also has an anti-DDoS later running.
Anyone with a little experience could take voat down. It was so poorly coded, they supposedly needed thousands of dollars per month to pay for a decent hosting that could handle the resources hungry code.
