IPs are hidden (binding) server side, and you can also set the Mumble client to auto-hide your IP as well (if the server doesn't hide it)

Years ago I set up a Mumble server on my home PC just so I could have high-quality conversations with family members. Disable all processing and you get quality unlike shitty phone calls etc. with noise suppression. Just be sure to use a good mic.

I tried to set up a mumble server for me and a couple of friends as a game chat. Could not get any voice transmission no matter what we did. Any suggestions or "Look at this" ideas?

AOU and i had an hour long conversation, he couldnt hear me at first either...

I started and restarted the client. and it worked...

when in doubt, restart?

Yeah, we did, spent nearly 3 hours troubleshooting. Client connections? No problem, I was sitting there watching names light up on the server. Text was no problem, but we couldn't get voice for shit.
