I had to have it all when working for corporate America. I still have 3 suits, 2pr leather soled dress shoes, a few ties. Everything still fits great. I ended up making my dress belt into my everyday belt after the everyday belt stretched and I ran out of holes. I got tired of pulling my pants up. I've only dressed up for weddings and funerals over the last decade plus.

I used to wear the military style belts for everyday in my 20s but leather belts with holes were always the proper thing when dressing up through my lifetime. If that has changed, I didn't know.

Yeah I never used to wear belts at all. When I started is was all web type.

Many of each - only one belt though - as required by the career. Shoes are highly polished, with the toe and heel spit-shined to mirrors (not required by career but required by my standards).
Even my weekend shoes are oiled and buffed regularly- not for fanciness but to extend their life and utility (it does look good, too, if I'm being honest)

Back when I had to wear suits for work one of my kids saw me wear it one day and started busted out laughing. I asked what the laughing was about and he said "your costume is funny, daddy".

I have a suit I bought from a magicians estate sale. Now if there is a funeral I have to attend I can comfort people with and endless stream of handkerchiefs
