I discovered an Airbnb has begun trading close to my street. Should i be concerned about this?

Some people say Airbnb is a good innovation. But others have said they are a magnet for trouble. I want my kids to be & feel safe where they live. I dont want scum & filth a couple of streets way from my family.

That kind of thing is a huge outlier. Neighbors generally know if they live near a BnB and if someone does that, itll get shut down really quick, and the renter gets flagged off the platform.

My mom has a beach rental she does, and that is the most likely candidate for type of thing to happen. She rarely rents to locals becuase a lot of times one person will rent the BnB and like 10 other people will show up to party at the beach and try to use the place for parking. Its only happened a couple times, and it was shut down pretty quick because one of the other renters in the other units called her and let her know.

In Pearland, TX home owners have been renting out and there's "mansion parties" aka rap concerts. Of course someone was shot and killed at one this year. High pricing doesn't keep out the scum.

The metrics change on a place that sleeps 12. Even 2k a night would be affordable
