I discovered an Airbnb has begun trading close to my street. Should i be concerned about this?

Some people say Airbnb is a good innovation. But others have said they are a magnet for trouble. I want my kids to be & feel safe where they live. I dont want scum & filth a couple of streets way from my family.

Do you like living near an unlicensed hotel?

>Do you like living near an unlicensed hotel?

No i do not. I like to know who my neighbours are.

Check with your local zoning. Many towns now have a short term rental restriction on residential zoning. They were enacted after having problems with AirBnB. If there is a restriction, report them.

Look it up. If you live in a decent neighborhood then you'll probably be surprised for how much it rents for per night. Higher price = higher caliber clients. But a couple streets over? There's nothing to get your panties in a bunch over.

What if the customer is dishonest and they book for one person but bring over a 40-man party?!

There are some things more important than money.

That kind of thing is a huge outlier. Neighbors generally know if they live near a BnB and if someone does that, itll get shut down really quick, and the renter gets flagged off the platform.

My mom has a beach rental she does, and that is the most likely candidate for type of thing to happen. She rarely rents to locals becuase a lot of times one person will rent the BnB and like 10 other people will show up to party at the beach and try to use the place for parking. Its only happened a couple times, and it was shut down pretty quick because one of the other renters in the other units called her and let her know.

In Pearland, TX home owners have been renting out and there's "mansion parties" aka rap concerts. Of course someone was shot and killed at one this year. High pricing doesn't keep out the scum.

Stick some “Proud 2A Neighborhood Watch” sign/flyers near their front door.

Mmmmmm. That is a very good tactic.

Depends where you live, if it's in a touristy area where people come to see landmarks and stuff, you are probably fine. If it's near a lake or something like that it's going to be filled with parties and all sorts of bullshit.

Magnet for trouble. There is an AirBNB down the street from me, and a couple of months ago we had the neighborhood's first murder there.

Stake out the house, if its owner occupied you should have no worries.

Also look up your towns bnb rules. Many require special taxes, if they're not compliant it could help you get it shut down.

My corporate landlords use vacant apartments for air bnb and airport delays. So far I haven't had any issues, even though they are literally next door.

Way better than hotels if you're staying over 4 days.

I understand what your saying but a residential community is not the place for such a business.

I'm not disagreeing, some neighborhoods it's definitely awkward.

Talk to the owner, introduce yourself. Either- meet the owners or have a trusted friend/family member book a night and meet them on your behalf. Air B&Bs can be tricky. The owners have to due their due diligence and screen their clients. One slip up and they can face a staggering repair bill. Your concern is warranted. They not only bring a guest to stay on their property (for a fee,) but into their neighborhood, as well. All it takes is one nigger to call it's nigger buddies and you've got a full blown riot a street over.

I wouldn't mind seeing them burned to the ground. Want to know why you cant afford housing? Some kike from New York Or. Some fag from San Francisco, Decide to leverage the vast difference in cost of living to buy up homes in your town. They spend a nickle on a dogshit renovation. And then charge $300 a night (taxes and all those fees included of course...) To spend the night in Sheboygan.

By air bnb did you mean joggers?

If yes then be vigilant.
