High intensity workouts in the morning , before eating anything. Your muscles will have limited glycogen to burn , forcing your body to use fat as fuel , not sure of the exact mechanics of it , but it does lower cholesterol and triglycerides over time.

It's difficult at first , but you get better at it if you stick with it. I was 245lbs , 45 inch waist ,triglycerides we're off the chart , and cholesterol was very high. Been working out like this , mornings before eating , for a few years , I'm a muscular 180lbs , 32 inch waist.

Of course your diet has to be on point , something like 40% carbs , 30% protein 30% fats. Stay away from bread and pasta as they cause your blood sugar to spike , and your body to dump insulin.

Read up on nutrition, and just stick with it . Like anything , consistency is key.

I was on Gemfibrozil for triglycerides, now don't need any meds , my blood work is just fine

Good luck

There's more than one type of cholesterol and it's not really true what has been said about cholesterol and how to keep one's levels in check. Like eggs and butter are bad for you. Simply not true.

Low/no carbs diet works for me on so many levels. Cook your own meals and avoid processed stuff. Check the ingredients on the stuff you buy.

Switch to chicken and cruciferous veggies only. Drink only water.

Make sure the water you drink, and if possible bathe in is not chlorinated. Chlorine tears up the insides of your arteries which causes your body to have your liver create more cholesterol to repair the damage. I know this from watching my wife's cholesterol go from almost 400 to half that and the only changes we made were the water, and she switched from margarine (doctor told her to eat it instead of butter), to butter. Stay hydrated, with good water, this helps everything.

Many water processing plants don't use chlorine any more, Liquid Ozone is used in most water treatment plants now.

That's a good thing. I've been on a good well for over 20 years now, I don't think about chlorinated water most of the time, and wasn't aware that places were using ozone. Although when I am somewhere that still uses it, it does smell like pool water to me.

Tap water has a lot of other nasty things besides chlorine. But I don't buy the claim that any of it gets absorbed through the skin. Especially not chlorine, which would immediately react with oils on the skin, fats in your skin, or all the lipid cell walls before it ever got past your epidermis.

Same with chlorine in your drinking water. It would never make it into your bloodstream.

Margarine on the other hand is nasty stuff.

Yeah it's for my wife as well. We just did our tests and I'm at normal level but I'm pretty fat right now. We just had our baby 3 mo ago, she is losing the baby weight but her cholesterol is at 420. Doctor basically said wtf this is insane level since she is not obese, she has to take lipitor or whatever, but she can't breast feed anymore if she starts on that. I'll check on that chlorine...

Best fat loss method is to have a baby suck it out of her. Don’t do the lipitor. See my other comment

Get ready for the doctor to do everything they can to prevent your wife from breastfeeding. That said, your wife's cholesterol is above 400 from what could only be a bad diet or what chickennipplesoup said. Berkey makes showerhead filters that do a pretty good job of filtering out the chlorine. I bought a house and fixed the well so I wouldn't have to deal with what they put in the water. Lipitor will give your wife dementia or alzheimers way earlier. You're brain's grey matter is cholesterol and lipitor doesn't give a fuck what cholesterol it reduces. Fix your diet then see where you to are at before you introduce kiked pharmaceuticals.

Find a non biased search engine and look up chlorine and milk. I would never have made the association had it not happened to my wife.

Oh wait what's up with milk?

Never EVER take Statin drugs for cholesterol! They are pure poison and will give you neuropathy. I asked my mother to stop taking her statin "cholesterol preventative" for 3 weeks, and her neuropathy STOPPED COMPLETELY. Jews have huge secondary market to treat the neuropathy they give the goy.

Stop eating crappy food.

Buy a bicycle and ride everywhere instead of using a car.

First off, if your doctor thinks LDL cholesterol is "bad," your doctor hasn't been keeping up with the medical research over the last 30 years. LDL by itself isn't bad at all, in fact the higher a person's LDL the longer they live on average. What's bad are high triglycerides and low HDL, and the size of your LDL particles. Low HDL, high triglycerides, and small LDL particles are caused by eating excess carbohydrates and industrially refined seed oils, and it doesn't matter where the carbohydrates come from. It can be fruit, Snickers bars, brown rice, or whole grain bread, it's all going to cause the same problems.

"Good" carbohydrates are a myth. No matter how complex a carbohydrate is, it's still just a chain of monosaccharides. The minute those carbohydrates enter your mouth your body starts breaking them down into monosaccharides (i.e., glucose, fructose, and galactose). That means by the time a carbohydrate hits your bloodstream it's sugar just the same as if you'd eaten a bowl of candy. It may enter your blood a little more slowly but that doesn't matter because it's the amount that matters, not how long it takes.

Eating a ketogenic or carnivore diet will reverse your numbers dramatically. My triglycerides went from 120 to 55 and my HDL went from 42 to 95. It's extremely rare to have an "inversion" where HDL is higher than triglycerides. My doctor was so dumbfounded by my blood tests that he referred me to an endocrinologist for investigation. He cannot accept that I got this way eating ribeye, bacon, butter, and eggs every day.

These are some good channels to get started learning about keto or carnivore health benefits:

EDIT - I just read one of your responses where you say you're fat right now. Another benefit of eating ketogenic or carnivore is that you can eat when you're hungry and eat until you're full and the pounds will still fall off. I lost 75 lbs in 8 months and loved every minute of it. But weight loss is just the tip of the iceburg. There are so many health benefits to being in ketosis that you really want to do it for the rest of your life if you want to live a long, healthy life.

Just don't get your keto advice from shitty internet forums (I'm looking at you reddit /r/keto). Many of those forums have been hijacked by people who don't actually believe a ketogenic diet works and they spend their time advising people that the only thing that works is starvation (calorie counting) and that ketosis isn't important in weight loss (why the fuck is it called a keto-genic diet if it's not supposed to be one that generates ketones?).

I'm fat right now, but it's my wife that has the high cholesterol, mine is fine. I'm still swimming about 2200 yards a few days a week at 1:50 / 100m pace. I just due to the chlorine possibility as well as a whole house filter. We have a nutritionist we are working with right now as well, but I just wanted to see what's up with lipitor, I remember reading a bunch of shit about it, especially like if you start taking it, you can never stop taking it or else you'll die. So fuck lipitor.

Don't let your nutritionist badmouth keto/carnivore dieting. If they're a vegan get a new nutritionist. Seriously.

Her results are triglycerides 74 HDL 77 VLDL 8 LDL 363 Total 448

[–] 1 pt

Very similar to mine:

triglycerides 55 HDL 91 VLDL 4 LDL 337 Total 431

That's what's called a "lean mass hyper-responder."

Hi, first get in shape and get to a good weight. Cut out most simple carbs and sugar.

Second, don’t sorry about it, cholesterol does not cause heart disease, it is ASSOCIATED with heart disease.

If you do the above things and get yourself in shape you will have low triglycerides but may still have high cholesterol. Congratulations! This combination actually has a LOWER risk of heart disease than people with low cholesterol.

Don’t bother with the pills either, their own literature states that they prevent one out of every 100 heart attacks while also having many side effects.
