They had originally terminated only me, but per the other people that worked there tbey also got terminated within the week. So at first I thought it was a one off thing and then it evolved beyond that

Draw unemployment compensation off of them, full allowance for as long as possible. You will get some bucks, their rates will go up and they will pay for years. As long as your termination was through no fault of your own, they have to pay. I got fired once , owner was an asshole, I applied , owner denied my claim, had a hearing over the phone and owner did not even bother to show up. I collected for 38 weeks, 26 weeks plus a 12 week extension. thanks for the 9 month vacation asshole !

Depends on state law. They may have done you a favor by making you eligible for unemployment. Depends on state llike I said. Also i'm american and assume everyone is b/c i'm american.
Whats the point if the whole dept got it? Find another job that will put up with you.
