I've been getting these yellow post cards for about a month or so, concerning a "Texas VFW Oral History Project." I finally called today and the guy rambled on about things that didn't really make a lot of sense to me. It seemed kind of benign until the guy I was talking too asked me to agree to make two monthly payments that would equal about $500! I guess he figured he had lulled into some sort of hypnotic state or something. I'm not even sure what the money was actually supposed to be for. Do you have any experience with this? I should have known something wasn't right when he kept asking things about me that the VFW would already know.

I'm not very computer savvy (I'm old). I will post a picture if I can figure out how. The return address on the card is: Texas VFW ORAL HISTORY PROJECT 8503 N. IH 35, AUSTIN, TX 78753

The card says: IMPORTANT MEMBER VERIFICATION REQUESTED Please Call 1-800-546-7511

It also says, for more info visit: www.TexasVFW.org. (I did't visit the sight) I've been involved with the VFW (off and on) for over forty years. What else do they need to know?
