I remember gas getting as high as $4.50 during the summer here in Missouri, and now most of the state varies between $2.79 and $2.50. Does anyone know what's going on?

Well I drive a diesel so no I don't notice any price lowering.

I don't drive a diesel, but I recall many years ago that someone successfully used cooking oil for fuel in a diesel. Do you know anything about this?

At what point would you consider trying this? I'm guessing it must really foul up the fuel pump and engine..

It might also be more of a pain to aquire large quantities of used cooking oil and filtering it than its worth.

My car's engine is made to exacting German standards, and I wouldn't befoul it with substandard fuel.

I think substandard fuel may become the new standard fuel for Germany eventually.
