I remember gas getting as high as $4.50 during the summer here in Missouri, and now most of the state varies between $2.79 and $2.50. Does anyone know what's going on?

Biden drained the SPR. It's almost empty, after which they'll go back up.

Not true. The price of gas is going down because millions of people have had to drive less thus using less gas which lowers demand which lowers price. The SPR has had no affect on the price of fuels at all. All it does is drain the oil we'd use to fight a war. Because the SPR is for the military not civilians. So, to recap people, millions of people are driving less so the price goes down. You are correct though, the price of fuel will go back up next year when the summer blends come back online.

Edit: sorry fat fingers.

If the SPR is just for the military would you mind explaining why biden came out and said he'd release millions of barrels from it to help curb prices and why millions of barrels have been released to help curb prices?

That's easy, he's releasing the Strategic oil Reserve to weaken our military. And if you look he sold more oil to China then he put into our refineries. One thing you must understand is we do not refine our oil in our country we send our oil out haven't refined and ship it back because the EPA refuses to allow a Refinery to be built in this country since the late 1970s. So by releasing all the Strategic oil to supposedly lower the price of gas in the US which at 3 billion barrels a day it's meaningless, all he has done is weak in the military. The price of gas is going down solely because of the fact that people are driving less.
