I know that in Jersey if you bring a gun in, its legal if you can prove you purchased into another state. However, in NYC and Staten Island, the information i found is close to non existent, and makes no real mention of traveller/nomad laws. So was curious, just how bad are the gun laws in those areas? If i have a gun from a state like Idaho, can it be brought in without a permit?

From what I understand the cops hand out permits for them and it's for something really stupid like a gun and 3 bullets. You're best bet is to keep your mouth shut and hope you don't need to use it.

The thing is I've travelled through NYC and of all the places ive ever been, its one of the places where i feel like having a gun is a necesity. Roaming feral niggers everywhere, crime and property destruction everywhere, petty crimes are considered not crimes. It's absolutely insane, and i would never want to go into this place without some form of protection. My other guess is all the good weapons are also banned: butterfly knives, switchblades, etc

That's the whole point. They don't want you to be able to protect yourself. Stay out of the big cities unless you are willing to do things you should never had to do in order to not be murdered.

My understanding is that if you get caught with a gun in NYC, you go to prison. I'm not sure if you even get a trial.

The way it works for me is I stay the fuck out of that hellhole.

Dont go near NYC with a firearm, even traveling through. Hell, I'd be dubious about shipping a firearm through that godforsaken city.

I looked up builder laws in NJ, apparently you need a class 3 SOT to build your own gun ... I was floored, because i love tinkering with guns, and looking into how they work. But asking for an FFL builder permit to assemble a gun is a bit ... much. And the rule is so vague that it could be misconstrued so easily, is adding a scope to a gun now considered an "Add", what if i want to add rails to the gun? Is the addition of any extension a crime, or simply certain ones? The rules are beyond convoluted and crazy
