I think they are the last generation that got/gets to enjoy the wealth of the American dream. I think their experiences leave them confused as to what happiness is, how the world works, and are inadvertently poisoning the proverbial well of wisdom with outdated knowledge; and expectations. If they are poor, they have succumbed to the idea the government is their beneficiary. If they are middle class, they incorrectly believe their success can be replicated through hard work. I think that even the "radical" among them have been placated via their age and lifestyle, leaving them without the will to fight any battle for fear of losing what they have. I think they blame younger generations, unfairly, for not having the strength/will to soldier on in these fucked up times that they created. Most are not bad by virtue or intent; they are bad because of willful ignorance created by stubborn programming and confused empathy.
