I know with the woke-ist bullshit, telecom has been bleeding revenue, as has the content produces ala Netflix. Who else is shitting the bed right now?

I work at a factory. Make a product that almost everyone uses almost every day. We can't make it fast enough! We can't keep enough people to make it any faster! Almost have a freeze on FIRING! Most of the factories around here have stopped drug testing! They can't afford to loose any more workers! The truckers that bring me supplies that I need tell the same thing. Management is willing to hire almost anyone! Not one word about running out of diesel! That was a lie, a fear mongering lie! Everyone who wants to work is working. It looks like the people that produce actual things are doing well. People that make things that are not tangible may be having a hard time. The company that I work for is over one hundred years old. Our product was made, in use, and needed for thousands of years! Computers and the internet definitely help, but they don't really matter to our product. If you make a product that is tangible and needed you can always have a job. Details like that are the reason why I got out of that side of things and focused more on making a real product that people Need!

I'm guessing toilet paper.

Almost everyone uses almost every day... It would fit.

Ball bearings, screws, doorknobs. Not sure the significance of diesel in the equation.

this is exactly the problem with my industry as well, every factory is working all the hours they can, they can't hire and train men fast enough. Half the workers they hire are garbage half are not, they keep the trash around cause a warm body can at least push a button on a machine.

What product is that?

I work in a factory that just laid off the entry level employees. We make a product that people just can't afford right now, so production's tanked.

The liberal fantasy of "lets all move to service jobs and let the third world do all the manufacturing" is dying. Service sector is bleeding jobs, mostly because most service sector jobs are made up, frivolous bullshit. If you're making things, or providing for those who make things, you're doing great for the most part.

But I think it's all going to come crashing down soon, people are all debt spending like crazy and it's going to catch up to everyone.

I live in the nyc metro. Layoffs started in late summer with mortgage industry. Later on I heard of layoffs in the online real estate (think zillow) industry and businesses that were over rated during lockdowns (think peleton)

I'm hiring. I'm doubling the size of my team.....4 offers went out today alone.

I am seeing Now Hiring signs all over the place. We just hired a new guy for our team. I can't keep the fucking recruiters off my case.

I work for a company contracted by large movie studios and entertainment companies. We haven’t seen any layoffs, but they have been reshuffling executive staff and the fear is in the air - albeit for all the wrong reasons. The studios themselves have seen layoffs, I think it’s just a matter of time before that starts spilling over. But I think it’ll probably be a good thing for a lot of these companies to trim the fat, otherwise known as the woke.

I think the layoffs have been limited to sectors with tons of fat. Social media companies, media companies, and crypto.

unless we break housing with raising interest rates i dont see another drop in the stock market. I personally dont know anyone who has been laid off.

I do know a few realators that have seen thair pay drop to near zero. but they will never actually get fired, it is rare for companies to fire people that are 100% comission

Im in Australia. People are dumping businesses (i.e getting out before going broke) in droves. A lot of people signed up for incredibly stupid leases during covid, because people were spending big (no holidays, so they spent everything on food and shopping). Now those high-interest loands and overprices rents are killing them. About double the businesses for sale as a month ago. It's going to be bad.
