My preferred locations are places where people are walking through. Preferably where nobody was already sitting.
This way if someone was already sitting they don't have to leave because they don't like it. And if someone walking through doesn't like it, they'll only have to hear it for 30-60 seconds.
This let's me do all kinds of crazy shit too.
The last I was doing it I probably peaked out on subway platforms. Incredible acoustics there.
I stopped because I ended up finding out I was in the least deserving place for anyone to enjoy my music.
Japan would appreciate. In the US, I would ask local elementary schools if you can do an informal thing at lunch, most kids gave never seen someone tear it up on a sax, likely never will.
I once played for a daycare. They asked me to come back repeatedly. Not super easy todo as it would have to be in the middle of a work day.
